2018 Photography Exhibit

RUles and Guidelines

INTRODUCTION

Forest Innovations is pleased to announce the 2018 Photography Exhibit!

Climate change is frequently discussed, but often in in-terms of long-range manifestations such as rising oceans and seas. However, there is an urgent tree mortality crisis in California today that is in the process of devastating over 100 million trees in California’s portion of the Sierra Nevada Mountains alone, fueling massive wildfires, and diminishing ecosystems, habitats, and homeowner property values.

California’s urban forests have also been significantly affected by drought conditions, disease, and pests over the last 7 years.

The purpose of the photography exhibit is to increase and spread awareness of both urban and rural trees challenges through story-telling images that capture the tree die-off, the impacts to ecosystems, and the consequences for property owners and entire communities.
